MSPbots employs the trusted 128-bit AES Encryption standard to ensure robust and reliable data security, aligning our system with the standard for symmetric encryption.
We have upgraded from the Data Encryption Standard (DES) to the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), specifically using AES-GCM. With this upgrade, MSPbots benefits from:
- Significantly stronger security
- Alignment with security and compliance frameworks
- Reduced encryption and decryption overhead compared to legacy DES
Currently, the following system modules utilize AES for both in-transit and at-rest encryption:
- Password (authentication tokens)
- All integration configuration data: API Key, Access Token, Username, Password
- Cross-service access tokens (internal or external)
- Server credentials (local server, cloud resources, application services, email servers), authentication tokens, and access keys
All data transmitted via the HTTPS protocol
