The ROI (Return on Investment) Calculator is a built-in profit analyzer in the AI Ticket Triage App for Autotask and ConnectWise Manager. It helps Managed Service Providers (MSPs) evaluate potential revenues and cost savings based on average triage times, employee salaries, subscription costs, and ticket volume.
This document overviews the metrics in the ROI Calculator widget and how the values for the ROI indicators are calculated.
ROI Calculator widget
The ROI Calculator widget in the AI Ticket Triage Overview dashboard uses your company's data (i.e., the business costs and volume you type into the fields) to calculate the ROI indicators.
The company data you will provide is:
- Monthly salary - This is your Service Coordinator's salary.
- Overhead Cost per Employee - This value includes benefits, office space, and equipment costs.
- Monthly Ticket Volume - This is the monthly triage ticket data volume of this company.
- Average Triage Time - This is the average time it takes an employee to triage a ticket manually.
- Plan Cost - This is your AI credits subscription plan and corresponding cost.
ROI Indicators
The indicators in the ROI Calculator widget are as follows:
- Monthly ROI - This represents your company's net monthly savings after accounting for plan costs.
- Yearly ROI - This indicates your company's net annual savings after accounting for plan costs.
- Hourly Savings - This is the total amount saved every hour after minimizing manual ticket triage.
- Monthly Savings - This reflects the total amount saved each month after reducing manual ticket triage.
How is the ROI calculated?
The table below lists the formulas and calculations for the ROI indicators.
ROI Indicator | Formula |
| Monthly ROI |
Example: If the Monthly Savings is $2,704.33 and the Plan Cost is $399, then $2,704.33 - $399 = $2,305.33
|
| Yearly ROI |
Yearly ROI = Monthly ROI x 12 months
If the Monthly ROI is $2,305.33, then $2,305.33 x 12 = $27,663.92
|
| Hourly Savings | Use this formula to calculate Hourly Savings: Sample calculation for a company with the following data:
|
| Monthly Savings |
Monthly Savings = Monthly Time Spent x Hourly Savings Example: If the Monthly Time Spent is 75 hours and the Hourly Savings is $25.96, then 75 x $36.06 = $2,704.33 The next section shows the calculation for Monthly Time Spent on Triage. |
How to calculate Monthly Time Spent on Triage
Use this formula to calculate the Monthly Time Spent on Triage in hours:
Example: If there are 1,500 tickets triaged monthly at an average of 3 minutes each, then the Monthly Time Spent on Triage is 75 hours.
